Reconstructing vocational identity in the gig economy: a protean-boundaryless model for vocational students

Abstract

Artikel ini merekonstruksi konsep pembentukan identitas profesional siswa vokasi di tengah transformasi ekonomi gig. Melalui sintesis teoritis, studi ini mengidentifikasi bahwa identitas vokasional tradisional yang dibangun atas spesialisasi tetap, validasi institusional, dan jalur karier linear tidak lagi memadai dalam ekosistem kerja berbasis proyek. Ekonomi gig menuntut identitas yang adaptif, multipel, dan dikelola secara strategis, di mana kemampuan membangun portofolio hibrida, reputasi digital, dan navigasi mandiri menjadi krusial. Artikel mengusulkan model integratif "Protean-Boundaryless" yang memandang identitas sebagai "proyek diri" yang terus diperbarui melalui interaksi dinamis antara agensi individu, struktur platform digital, dan pendidikan vokasi. Implikasinya menuntut pergeseran paradigma pendidikan vokasi dari penyiapan tenaga kerja spesialis menuju pengembangan kapasitas navigasi, ketangguhan psikologis, dan literasi digital untuk merespons ketidakpastian pasar kerja kontemporer
